Meows Lost!!

Although I just signed up and created my blog, I need to document an earth shattering even that started my week....

Kaitlyn could not find her beloved Meows ( 3yr old stuffed animal thats a cat). As usual the household stops what they are doing and begins the search and rescue efforts. This time is was not sucessful. We all began to panic!
After researching I decide to drive across town where we had to leave our car for some warranty work and search its contents... found nothing.. then realize there is a possiblity that she left it inside of Costco ( a huge warehouse store) ! Sean and I discuss and he then remembers that the last time he saw it was when he took Kaitlyn to the restroom in the store and put it on the towel dispenser after washing hands....
panic set in.. it was 9:30 pm on Sunday night the store was closed... the idea then popped into my head that maybe just maybe there was a night crew restocking and if I knocked loud enugh they would open up ... I had Matt with me so I wasn't alone.
I pull into the huge empty parkinglot and around the corner of the building comes this white work truck and yes, it was Sean he had the same idea and made it there first.. no night crew and everything was locked up tight!

It was a horifick night.. Kailtyn had NEVER been without Meows.. it was like she was having constant nightmares. Uncontrolable sobbing and screaming all night until she finally was so exhausted. We got about three hours of sleep that night.

I called Costco at 9:30 even thought it didn't open til 10 hoping to get someone at the front desk to check lost and found... hoping someone would recognize at BELOVED stuffy and not just toss the ratty thing in the garbage... nope nothing.

I couldn;t bare the thought of going another night like last night so I had to give it one more shot, I went back to the store when it opened at 10am... I walked in and searched the bathroom then retraced the path Sean said they took and sure enough on top of a display someone had put Meows....

the emotions that swelled up inside me when I saw Meows I couldn't control! Tears came ot my eyes and I didnt care that I was a grown adult hugging to my chest this ragged stuffy... a ragged stuffy that had the power to rock my innocents childs world...
I looked around to see who was watching me and saw a women folding clothes, I asked her if she found the cat and she said yes but that she has also saved it from another coworker who was going to toss it in the garbage.. she had a son who had a well loved stuffy and couldn't let her toss it in the garbage.. she knew someone would be back for it.

I cried and hugged this women and she had tears in her eyes too.
I started back to theparkinglot for my car and called home to advise my search efforts.
meows had been found.....

the joy and relief I saw on my daughters face as she grabbed and hugged Meows for dear life will never fade from my memory.. it was definately a Kodak moment....
